Cheryl Prescod is an experienced senior executive within the community health sector. Her current role as the Executive Director of Black Creek Community Health Centre places her in one of Toronto’s most racially and socio-economically diverse communities where she is known as a champion for health equity. Her work developing partnerships with grassroots groups, community agencies and mainstream organizations is a driving force for the operational success of her CHC. In addition to the core services provided at her organization, she has led local and regional projects, some of which include:

· Healthy Kids Community Challenge

· A Community of Practice Model for Social Inclusion

· Stakeholder reflections on the sustainability of a community-campus engagement center

Cheryl sits on several boards including the Alliance for Healthier Communities (formerly the Association of Ontario Health Centres) and a Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic in Toronto; she is on the Advisory committee of the TD-York University Community Engagement Centre and a Peer reviewer for the Canadian Centre for Accreditation.

In addition to an academic background in Sciences (University of Toronto, University of Ottawa), she is a graduate of the Advanced Health Leadership Program at the Rotman School of Management, the Schulich School of Business where she obtained a Masters Certificate in Healthcare Management and most recently completed a certificate in Strategic Perspectives in Non-profit Management at Harvard Business School.

Having lived experience as a racialized professional woman in Canada, she is a passionate advocate for equity, inclusion and social justice. Cheryl lives in the GTA and enjoys spending time with her family.
