Sharene Shafie MDES currently works as Ryerson Urban Farm’s Living Lab Research Coordinator. Sharene completed her Masters in Design at the Ontario College of Art and Design University in the Strategic Foresight and Innovation Program, where her research focused on the business case for open-air rooftop urban agriculture in Toronto. You can find her research published in the Toronto Youth Food Policy Council’s bi-annual publication, The Gathering. Sharene worked at Green Roofs for Healthy Cities as their Education Coordinator and Marketing Assistant for more than a year before joining Ryerson University. In addition to her graduate studies, Ms Shafie completed the Ryerson Urban Farm’s Urban Farm Training program in addition to the Introduction to Urban Agriculture course offered by Green Roofs for Healthy Cities.
